Can the Ecclesia of today pull it off? Perhaps a better question is, “Why do we think that we are not “pulling it off?” Followers of Jesus are salt and light…in spite of our flaws. Everywhere I look I see the Ecclesia dawning the towel & basin and humbly serving. We are, we forever will be, the soul of the city!

Well first I’d like to know what the point of this website is? Is it for some “mighty theologians” to get together and solve some abstract issues all the while expressing their vast knowledge of christian words and phrases?? You speak of living out of the matrix and being in “the real world” but you have created your own matrix. I am not convinced of your religious views Father Neo and am curious if you have real friends that you can truly help instead of this sheltered arena from which you dwell…

Um, look at the title? “Theological and other musings” Surely you can’t expect any website to be everything, and this one has quite narrowly defined its purpose in the title. As to “mighty theologians”, I doubt any of us qualify. But we are some of those who find worshipping God in “truth and love” important, and this site works mostly on the “truth” part from my experience here. The truth is offensive. Many Chirstians of today’s Christians do not hold a view of God that is the same as He revealed to His Church in even the first two centuries of Chirstianity. One of the core questions engaged here is “Who is God” and does it matter how he has been revealed historically. I think Fr., and I at least, are contending that not only does it matter, but that views that are too far from this revelation are no longer worshipping the God of the Bible and the Church. This should scare anyone who seriously considers it.
I think Fr. Neo does a fairly good job of not being unloving. You have to understand that some of us are friends (or even relatives - (Moody) Padawan niece really is Fr. Neo’s niece) “in real life” and that the discussions and sparring are playful more than meant to be unloving.
As one of Fr. Neo’s real friends, who has been greatly helped by his ministry (yes, he is really an actual priest), I find your judgement of his character based on a few blog posts far more unloving than the playful sparring that goes on here.
If you are unconvinced of his views, perhaps you could engage in the conversation - or even ask the good Fr. to engage in an email discussion if you prefer not to get caught up in the playful sparring, or would rather talk about different topics. He is really a very faithful, loving man.
Oh, and Christos Anesti! (Christ is risen!) (Pascha was AWESOME!!!!! This last week was the best Holy Week EVER!)
