A few qs my young padawan. Did Jesus follow the traditions of Moses? Who decided what books were to be in the Bible (esp. the NT)?

Who told the early church of the first three centuries how to live, how to worship, what to believe, etc., since they didn’t have a black leatherbound Scofield NT to work with? Since ‘tradition needs to be subject to Scripture’ the big question is what tradition??

    Sorry, I have not been avoiding your post, nor have I been avoiding jholder’s. I tried replying the other night, but it wouldn’t go through…enough of that. I knew you would have some questions and take me to task…that is why I posted in the first place. You underestimate my wisdom Fr. Neo. You have made some excellent points, and you may be surprised that I agree wholeheartedly with most of what you’ve said. Great question regarding “what tradition”! Impressive, most impressive. But I think you missed my point or maybe I just didn’t make it clear enough. The danger I see in tradition is when you put it on the same level as Scripture. You are playing with fire when you do that. Tradition is not inspired, sola scriptura is. Now I have one question, where is my Scoffield???
